Price Reductions and Fluxuations of Steel Pricing
These are some interesting times! As soon as we mark something up for changes in raw material costs, then the price on raw material goes down again. That is what we are faced with right now. HSS and Cobalt Steel pricing is back down to levels of where it was 3-4 years ago. Unfortunately, we just put out a price list at the old higher priced steel. We’ve corrected that on our website and the downloadable spreadsheet on the site and in our computer system. We have reduced the prices on almost all of our tooling above .5000 in diameter.
We’ve never been a proponent of the “Across the Board” increases because that’s not how our costs are typically affected. We take the time and look at real costs and impacts in our manufacturing processes. Our last increase escalated the larger diameter tools dramatically due to the effect price/pound increases in steel. Now we’re seeing some savings and we’re passing those along to you.
