Owners Celebrate 30 Years
ALVORD-POLK TOOL COMPANY is SOLD. Those were the headlines from the October 5th, 1977 issue of the UPPER DAUPHIN SENTINEL. The actual article is below:
MILLERSBURG—George Wilt, President of the Alvord-Polk Tool Company, announced on Friday the sale of the tool company to two local men, Ronald Boyer and Robert Rissinger. It is the intention of the new owners to retain the Alvord-Polk name, which is highly respected in the cutting tool industry. George Wilt has accepted a position in the new corporation as General Manager of Manufacturing Operations, while Ronald Boyer will become the company’s new President, and Robert Rissinger the new Secretary-Treasurer.
The Alvord-Polk has been under the control and management of M.E. Wilt & Sons since 1946. The Polk name has been associated with the metal cutting industry since 1882, when A. J. Polk began his operations in Millersburg. In more recent years it has gained a reputation as a supplier of quality cutting tools, specializing in all types of reamers an milling cutters. It is the intent of the new co-owners to continue the growth of the company in this line of product.
September 30, 2007, Ronald Boyer and Robert Rissinger will celebrate 30 years of ownership. Pictured are Ron and Bob in front of the Millersburg offices. Alvord-Polk Inc. now includes these divisions, Alvord-Polk Tool, Morton Machine Works, 21st Century Manufacturing(Lake Preston, SD), Brush One, Laserclad and TagTeam.
